Ripped off by Alloy Worx

Alloy Worx has claimed another victim. Please reconsider using Alloy Worx. I have never used such an unorganised and dishonest company in my life. Early this year I requested a quote for a canopy from Alloy Worx and various other companies. After assessing the quotes as per my spec I decided to use Allow Worx, BIG MISTAKE.

This is when the nightmare began, I gave John the deposit it good faith thinking that he would come good with the supplying the canopy in the 6 to 8 weeks as he promised. I placed the order for canopy at the start of May 2009 it is now October 2009. I have made every attempt to obtain my goods from John at Alloy Worx but have had no results. He is the master of spinning lies to make you feel as if he will have the canopy to you by the end of the week. He never delivers on his word.

John will tell you he can do it all alloy works! alloy boat accessories, alloy boats, aluminium fuel tanks, boat canopies, lockers, roofracks, tool boxes, trailers, truck bodies, under tray boxe, ute canopies, Utility Boxes, work bodies. Dont be fooled!

I have asked John for my deposit back but as his true colours keep coming through as he refuses and tells me the canopy is on its way. I have cut my losses now and I am in the process of moving on to find another manufacture for my canopy.

It annoys me seeing his big F250 sitting out the front of his place at Eagle Farm knowing he is ripping people and using the proceeds to fuel it up. If I can save just one person from loosing money to this rip off artist I know not all is lost.

Thanks and good luck!

  1. I have found the same issues. It makes me wonder how he is still in business. I guess it is all the lies John comes up with and the deposits he takes that keeps him going. Dont be fooled by price and promises. My canopy did not turn up either and I lost my deposit.

    1. Bet you didn't win. He always does. He is a bankrupt operating as a sole trader. Not his first go at being a bankrupt either. Steer well clear.

  10. Its a shame that John Van Tiburg, the owner of Alloyworx, is so dishonest.

If you must use him get EVERYTHING in writing before any payment is made. Only believe what he can prove, he is excellant at telling monster lies. i.e.
"Yeah the canopy has just been loaded onto the truck and should be at yours in an hour." and then
"Idont know where the truck driver is I can get him on his mobile" and then
"Ive spoken to the drivers mum, he has been arrested and the truck impounded for hooning"

He hadnt even started building the canopy!!!
Be very careful trusting this person!
These are only some of his lies. 18 months this muppet has jerked me around for.

  11. How I wish I had found this site BEFORE I dealt with John.

Dishonest, delays, does not state the truth, told me 4-6 weeks, 4 months later and after threatening to have my money returned delivered a shoddy product. When finally received my toolbox after being told it had to go offsite” to get the struts fitted hence the delays”...one of many excuses, I don't think so...., welding was shoddy at best, every one rough ground even on the outside, handles leak in wet weather, and both the lids warp when the sun heats them up to the point you can hardly get one side closed.

Every comment on this site is true and I have endured mostly a similar experience.

Would of been better off buying a cheap made in china product and replace it every two years.

One word of advice if you think of dealing with this guy ........DON’T......RUN NOW...RUN FAST.

  12. For gods sake won't someone call aca or today tonight to really put the heat on this prick. You all may or maynot be aware and if you google 'john vantilburg itsa' you'll find that he was convicted by itsa, which is the insolvency trustee for his bankruptcy of 50 plus fraud offenses in 2011 and placed on a two year good behavior bond with the penalty for breaching that bond $2000 and 2 years jail. That bond expires in April 2013. I think we'd all agree that this man should not be allowed to continue operating a business. So anyone with enough evidence to convince a court that john is fraudulent little prick might like give itsa a tingle......

  14. Well wish my partner had read these comments before dealing with this guy! But you don't normally research too hard into a business when getting products etc... well I don't - maybe in future we will.
$2000 deposit still owed from this guy. We have a cheque but obviously no point banking as he has no money. What a joke! And ever so bloody frustrating...

  16. Alloyworx in Brisbane is NOT Alloyworks Pty ltd that I used to run in Paget, Mackay
    I sold the company since
    We made fierce trade campers
This guy obviously still tries to make a buck on that good product and reputation we had
    I suggest you
Don't order trade campers and canopies from this bloke
I now run a shop in vancouver Canada
Heres 28 pages of what we do. You will see some of our old Australian made campers there as well
